The cases of applications of cryptocurrencies and their technologies are multiplying at full speed. Non-fungible tokens (NFT) are of course one of them. They have already found use cases in art, sports and collections. Much less expected: NFTs and the immutability of blockchains are now useful for official documents in the UK, including… NFT filings!
Receiving subpoenas via NFT is possible!
Non-fungible tokens are more than trendy at the moment, we see them everywhere. Even the prevailing gloom in the Bitcoin (BTC) and crypto market can’t dampen the enthusiasm of some for NFTs. It must be said that, for example in the world of soccer, stars like Kylian Mbappé or Zinedine Zidane sign partnerships with companies issuing NFTs like Sorare.
But now, even the British Justice is getting into it! Indeed, as Bloomberg reports, among other things, a judge in the UK has validated the possibility of serving legal documents via blockchain and the issuance of NFTs…
This world first follows a complaint filed by a certain Fabrizio D’Aloia, against Binance, Poloniex and three other crypto exchange platforms. The latter must hold in their wallets cryptos that would have been fraudulently diverted to the plaintiff by a scammer (using a clone of trading site).
Thus, an NFT airdrop of the summons was sent, via blockchain, to the two wallet addresses used by the scammer (before they sent the cryptos to the above-mentioned exchanges). One more (rather unexpected) form of adoption for cryptos!
NFTs, made unique by blockchains, have become a world of their own within the cryptosphere. And many are snapping them up. For example, Animoca Brands Group, which is notably behind The Sandbox (SAND) metaverse, recently managed to easily raise $75 million for its development.
