Time Magazine to accept ApeCoin (APE)
The Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) recently launched ApeCoin (APE) to support its ecosystem.
Despite some volatility in the market, the APE token is already attracting interest, particularly as a new payment method.
For example, the famous Time Magazine is planning to accept ApeCoin soon for the payment of its digital subscriptions.
However, fans will have to be patient before they can use the token. In fact, the American newspaper said that this new payment method will be implemented in the coming weeks.
A magazine used to crypto-currencies
This isn’t the first time Time Magazine has taken an interest in crypto-currencies. For a year now, the newspaper has been accepting several of them, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH), Dogecoin (DOGE) or even Cronos (CRO).
These new means of payment are also accepted here as part of a digital subscription. Moreover, the initiative is the result of a collaboration between Crypto.com and Time.
In addition to cryptocurrencies, TIME has become very active in the non-fungible token (NFT) sector. The latter notably auctioned off 4 digital versions of its covers last March. This transaction allowed the company to raise a total of 276 ETH, or nearly $441,600 at the time.
As the latest evidence of cryptocurrency adoption, the famous magazine will publish a special edition in the form of NFT on March 23, which features an interview with Ethereum creator Vitalik Buterin.
