Many large groups are aware of the growth potential of metavers, which may eventually become new communication channels. Like JP Morgan or Walmart, it is the turn of Havas Group to take the plunge. Havas Group is one of the largest communication groups in the world. It is headed by the son of Vincent Bolloré: Yannick Bolloré. Let’s take a step back.
The metavers : a communication relay for brands
This is not the first time the Havas group has ventured into the digital domain, allowing certain brands to make an incursion.
Among their achievements, we can note:
- A commercial partnership with the brand of the sports equipment manufacturer: Puma, during a live concert of the rapper Alonzo in GTA Online
- The creation of a clothing line for the Louis Vuitton brand in the game League of Legend
- As well as the integration of AirFrance-KLM in Second Life
It is therefore natural that the group has indicated through a press release that three subsidiaries of the group will launch “METAVERS BY HAVAS”. In order to devote themselves to the accompaniment of brands in the social world of Metavers. The subsidiaries involved will be Havas Sports & Entertainment, Havas Paris Social and Socialyse Paris and will work together to:
- Identify the best opportunities for the brand;
- Create and enrich virtual worlds;
- Create and manage the brand presence in these universes;
- Create skins and avatar designs;
- Monetize, create NFT and meta-commerce.
Destination the metavers of The Sandbox
The Havas Group has decided to drop its bags in the metaverse, by acquiring a virtual plot of land in The Sandbox.

More and more large companies are taking an interest in the metaverse, which is not necessarily to everyone’s taste. This is illustrated, for example, by the demonstration organized by the Superflus association on the Samsung plot in Decentraland.
In any case, the metaverse is of interest and we can only wait to see the results of this investment by Havas Group. The new Havas Village is scheduled to open to the public in The Sandbox at the end of April 2022.
