Snoop Dogg and Eminem have released a new track with a video featuring their Bored Ape Yatch Club (BAYC) NFTs. This song named “From The D 2 The LBC” was presented last week at the ApeFest 2022 in New York.
Snoop Dogg and Eminem give BAYC a showcase
Famous rappers Snoop Dogg and Eminem have released a new track, the video for which features two of their non-fungible tokens (NFTs) from the Bored Ape Yatch Club (BAYC). The video begins with the two singers in a recording studio, and then they are gradually transformed into Bored Ape.
In addition to the explicit nature of the lyrics and the video, we note that these Bored Apes are an integral part of the clip and are more than just winks. This title called “From The D 2 The LBC” was presented in margin of the ApeFest 2022:
ApeFest was held in New York from June 20 to 23. This festival was reserved for owners of a Bored Ape or an NFT from the Mutant Ape Yatch Club (MAYC) collection. The event hosted concerts every day. Snoop Dogg and Eminem were part of the program, but Lil Wayne, for example, was also there. Private parties and stores with the collections were also part of the event.
World-class marketing
Through this clip, Snoop Dogg and Eminem are providing a major showcase for BAYC and, by extension, Yuga Labs, the studio behind the collection. The latter is mentioned in the credits at the end of the video.
At the time of writing, “From The D 2 The LBC” has already gained 8.4 million views on YouTube and generated 2.6 million listens on Spotify.
If it is obviously a good surprise to see the NFTs so honored, the interest of Snoop Dogg and Eminem towards them was already known. Last December 30, the rapper from Detroit had spent $ 452,000 to buy the Bored Ape #9055 present in the clip.
On his side, Snoop Dogg is literally crazy about NFT. An official address of the singer, known as Cozomo de Medici, lists 842 NFTs according to OpenSea.
This news shows that month by month, non-fungible tokens are becoming part of popular culture. Thus, the scope of successful collections, with real added value, goes far beyond the JPEG and crypto aspect and federates a real community.
