Samsung enters the metaverse with Decentraland
On its Twitter account, Samsung unveiled its plans to open a store in the metaverse by partnering with one of the giants of the sector: Decentraland (MANA).
Named Samsung 837X, in reference to the physical store located at 837 Washington Street in New York, this store will nevertheless be open for a limited time.
The aim of this store is to offer digital adventures to its users. Also, even if this project is not intended to remain in time, Samsung obviously intends to repeat this kind of experience.
“The Samsung 837X store will offer digital adventures through the theater of connectivity and the forest of sustainability. The latter aims to give users a mythical experience through millions of digital trees,”
Samsung said.
Samsung to put NFTs into play
For the occasion, the company has organized a mixed reality dance party hosted by DJ Gamma Vibes from its physical store in New York.
Guests will also be able to participate in a game, in order to get 837X non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and wearables.
However, it should be noted that these NFTs will be available in limited quantities. Also, the winners will be announced exactly on January 7 at 8:37 pm.
“The metaverse allows us to transcend physical and spatial boundaries to create unique virtual experiences that could not happen otherwise. Innovation is in our DNA, and we can’t wait for all of you to experience this burgeoning virtual world,”
