Opera has announced the launch of its dedicated crypto-currency browser on iOS. Available since January in beta on PC and Android, Opera Crypto Browser directly embeds a non-custodial wallet as well as a multitude of tools to interact with Web 3.0 and decentralized applications.
Opera launches its browser for cryptocurrencies on iOS
The Norwegian firm Opera Software has just announced the release on iOS of its browser specifically designed for Web 3.0 and cryptocurrencies.
Already available in beta form since January on PC, Mac or Android, this “Crypto Browser” will now be available for download for more than a billion people to open the doors to Web 3.0 on iPhone.
Opera Crypto Browser has been designed around 2 main axes: the guarantee of confidentiality and a simplified handling while privileging an intuitive interface. Indeed, Opera realized that despite a strong increase in public interest in Web 3.0, no application has yet proposed a portal to this sector that meets these conditions.
The browser, which directly integrates a non-custodial wallet, aims to simplify the user experience as much as possible in their daily use of decentralized applications (dApps), games as well as various multiverses.
Jorgen Arnesen, executive vice president of the mobile business at Opera, confirmed that:
“Interest in Web 3.0 is growing steadily. The Opera Crypto Browser project was designed to simplify the Web 3.0 user experience, which is often confusing for ordinary users. Opera believes that Web 3.0 must be easy to use in order to reach its full potential and mass adoption.”
The iOS app is already available for download on Opera’s dedicated page or directly from the App Store.
What does this browser dedicated to cryptocurrencies offer?
Opera has spared no expense for its crypto browser, which directly embeds a non-custodial wallet and “Crypto Corner”, an aggregator of data and news related to cryptocurrencies, which also offers a real-time update of the price of the latter.
The browser’s built-in wallet currently supports Ethereum (ETH), Polygon (MATIC) and Celo (CELO). Note that the future integration of other blockchains is already in the works. It already allows to buy cryptocurrencies, to store them or to transfer them, but also to swap tokens between all supported blockchains.
Furthermore, it allows to interact directly with decentralized exchanges (DEX), to use non-fungible tokens (NFTs) based on Web 3.0 as well as decentralized gaming applications and various services offered by Web 3.0.
We will also appreciate the possibility to synchronize Opera on all supported media. Thus, it is possible to find your personalized browser on PC, Mac or phone.
Finally, the Opera Crypto browser offers the possibility to import any Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) compatible wallet on its native wallet, as well as, of course, all the cryptocurrencies that are in it.
Note that in addition to its panel of tools for the blockchain world, Opera also integrates several solutions designed to protect privacy such as a tracker blocker, a pop-up blocker and a cookie window blocker. These are tools that the company has mastered, as they are already in place on its classic browser.
Opera thus aspires to reach a wider audience, and here has managed to find the tools that will satisfy all cryptocurrency holders, both novice and experienced.
