OnlyFans offers ETH to support Ukraine
Entertainment platform OnlyFans, which has more than 170 million users, has donated 500 Ethers (ETH) to the organization UkraineDAO in support of Ukraine in its conflict with Russia. At the time of writing, this amount is equivalent to approximately $1.3 million.
This amount was paid in connection with the sale of an NFT representing the flag of Ukraine on the site Zora, which has brought in more than 6.5 million dollars alone.
This decision is explained in particular by the Ukrainian-American nationality of the owner of OnlyFans, Leonid Radvinsky. The conflict has not spared the content creators of the platform, as confirmed by Amrapali Gan, the CEO of the company:
“These tragic events have had a terrible impact, including for members of our community,” and she added: “Given our close personal ties to Ukraine, we were keen to provide support in a way that is true to who we are here at OnlyFans, and that is focused on helping and supporting the Ukrainian people.”
According to information obtained by our colleagues at CoinDesk, the OnlyFans platform has already donated over $5 million in support of Ukraine. An additional $1 million donation is also planned for March 15.
Of the many organizations tasked with raising funds to support Ukraine, UkraineDAO has been one of the most prominent, raising several million dollars via its Ethereum address. The association was founded in a collaboration including PleasrDAO, Trippy Labs and Nadia Tolokonnikova, a member of the anti-Russian activist group Pussy Riot.
