The VeVe marketplace is announcing the first Marvel NFTs featuring Spider-Man for this weekend. The price range is between $40 and $400. More Marvel NFTs are expected to be released later in August.
Marvel is finally getting into NFTs
The NFTs frenzy had fallen off since the highs of last February, but it seems to be picking up again in recent weeks. The time is right for the famous marketplace Veve to announce the release of the first official non-fungible tokens (NFTs) of Marvel.
Of course, for those who follow the news of NFTs, this is not a surprise. Indeed, last June, Marvel had announced that it would soon launch a collection of NFTs. The official announcement took place yesterday and, as expected, it is on the VeVe marketplace that these NFTs will be available, at the effigy of Spider-Man in a first time.
They will go on sale this Saturday, August 7 at 11 pm (French time). For those who would like to buy them, there will be five 3D digital statues to collect, with prices ranging from 40 to 400 dollars:
- The Amazing Spider-Man priced at $40 for 32,000 units;
- Hangin’ Out priced at $50 for 16,000 units;
- Jump Into Action priced at $100 for 9,000 units;
- Animated priced at $250 for 2,500 units:
- Ultimate Animated priced at $400 for 1,000 units.
Marvel’s prepared arrival on the market
Marvel did not rush its arrival on the NFTs market and the production company did not want to jump on the February record train. On the contrary, this arrival was prepared in advance.
The market was booming. Marvel understood that NFTs could represent an important economic windfall. The whole film world is still suffering from the crisis caused by Covid-19, which resulted in the closure of cinemas.
Spider-Man is just the first in a long line of Marvel NFTs
For Marvel, while Spider-Man’s NFTs are a long shot, the vision is more long-term. Indeed, many other Marvel NFTs will be released during this month of August, a “Marvel Month” for VeVe. The latter has announced that five covers of Marvel Comics #1, the very first comic book of the franchise, released in 1939, will soon be released as NFTs. Captain America is also announced, without knowing the release date at this time.
Without saying it openly, Marvel wishes to launch itself before its long-time competitor and the other big American comics publisher, DC Comics. Moreover, the latter is also working with VeVe, which has thus managed to attract the two giants in its portfolio!
Anyway, Marvel is now well and truly launched in the world of NFTs. The question we can ask ourselves is whether the fans of the first hour will follow, they who love collecting physical figurines of their favorite heroes.
