Crypto.com (CRO) to be one of the sponsors of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar
Crypto.com, the Singapore-based cryptocurrency exchange platform, has entered into a partnership with FIFA, the international sports federation that oversees the world of soccer. As part of the partnership, the exchange will be among the official sponsors of the 2022 World Cup.
“We are delighted that a global brand such as Crypto.com is joining us as a sponsor of this exciting and unprecedented World Cup in Qatar and will contribute to the growth of soccer internationally,”
said Kay Madati, FIFA’s Chief Commercial Officer.
According to the statement released by FIFA on March 22, 2022, Crypto.com will be the exclusive sponsor of the event “in the area of cryptocurrency trading platforms.” No other platform will be among the official sponsors of the event.
Billboards showing the platform’s logo will be visible on the soccer fields. Millions of sports fans around the world will see the brand on their TV sets.
Thanks to the visibility offered by the World Cup, Crypto.com hopes to swell its investor base. The exchange currently has over 10 million users worldwide.
“To increase the global awareness of Crypto.com, we couldn’t ask for a better sponsorship of the FIFA World Cup, one of the most prestigious tournaments in the world,”
says Kris Marszalek, co-founder and CEO of Crypto.com.
The tournament will take place in Qatar on November 21. With this agreement, Crypto.com joins the closed club of FIFA partners, which already consists of several renowned multinationals, including Visa, Coca-Cola, Sony or Adidas.
Crypto.com will offer 2022 World Cup tickets to its users
The exchange will not only display billboards showing its logo in the stadiums. Crypto.com will take advantage of the 2022 World Cup to offer tickets for the matches to its users. The press release also mentions “exclusive prizes”.
This partnership is part of Crypto.com’s extensive advertising campaign to increase its visibility. In this respect, the exchange has already established several large-scale partnerships with the world of sports.
“Crypto.com has already demonstrated its ability to support high profile teams and competitions, major events and iconic venues around the world,”
said FIFA’s Commercial Director.
Last month, Crypto.com became the official partner of the F1 Grand Prix in Miami. As part of the agreement, the exchange’s logo will be visible on the podium and the winners’ trophies. At the end of last year, the company also signed a partnership with Angel City FC of Los Angeles before taking out an advert during the Super Bowl.
