Huobi Group is holding a contest to celebrate its 8th anniversary. One lucky winner, in good health, could soon be part of a trip to space. The company is for the moment stingy with details about this marketing action.
Huobi goes to space: a contest to mark an 8th anniversary
Huobi Group will not only blow out candles on a cake to celebrate its 8th anniversary until the end of November 2021. It will organize a contest with a ticket that will allow the lucky winner to travel to space as part of its prize list. While participation in the contest is open to all Huobi users around the world, according to Jeff Mei, director of global strategy at Huobi Group, participants will have to meet “health requirements” that are necessary “to be able to go into space, but these details will be revealed later.”
Mei mentioned similarities between an open space and the openness of cryptocurrencies and Huobi, to explain the message behind the contest:
“The message we are trying to send with this contest is that the concept of the space is open to everyone, and this reflects the openness of cryptocurrencies and the Huobi platform.”
Huobi Group has not yet disclosed the name of the space agency that will be handling the space trip for the winner.
Huobi’s annual forum: inflation and cryptocurrencies on the agenda
Huobi is also hosting its annual online forum, Huobi Summit 2021: Blockchain and Beyond, which takes place on November 8, 2021, to celebrate its 8th anniversary. The event includes panel discussions with blockchain and crypto experts, and government officials.
The forum will notably see the participation of former US Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan. The latter will speak on the topic of inflation in the world, in a context where cryptocurrencies are seen by more and more people as a hedging asset.
Huobi’s native cryptocurrency, Huobi Token (HT), had seen a significant decline after coming under regulatory pressure from China. Will the exchange’s 8th anniversary space ambitions be able to lift HT’s price to new heights?
