Animoca Brands: $1.5 billion for blockchain games
NFTs game studio Animoca Brands has just released an as-yet unaudited financial report for the last three months of 2021 and the first four months of 2022.
The report outlines its latest investments and key financial results. Also, it states that it has a portfolio of assets valued at $1.5 billion spread across 340 blockchain gaming companies.
Animoca Brands owns The Sandbox (SAND), Gamee, Monkey Games, Axie Infinity, OpenSea, Dapper Labs (NBA Top Shot), Yield Guild Games or Blowfish Studios, among others.
It should be noted that the company has made a certain bet on games using non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Moreover, it claims to have earned more than $721 million, over the last 7 months, from the sale of tokens and sales of NFTs.
More than $4 billion in digital assets
In addition to these highlights, Animoca Brands also reports holding a digital asset pool worth $4 billion. This amount is not reflected on the company’s balance sheet.
Note that this pool includes tokens from its various investments, namely: SAND, UMAD, QUIDD, PRIMATE, REVV, TOWER, or GMEE.
There is no doubt that the company remains active in this ecosystem. In fact, it raised nearly $359 million in January.
This recent round of financing brings the studio’s valuation to $5 billion. Among the participants were Soros Fund Management and the Winklevoss twins from Gemini.
Of course, its objective is to strengthen its presence in the NFTs sector, GameFi and the metaverse.
